The Ionia Volleyball B Team started tonight's match a bit sluggish and dropped the first set 5-25.  Harper Tumbleson tallied 3 aces from the service line.  The Bulldogs came out all fired up in the second set and battled St. Johns for every point.  St. Johns had the serve and they were on a bit of a run when Peyton Batista handled a bullet of a serve and sent it right back over the net.  This was a turning point and the Bulldogs rallied and fell just short losing 21-25.  Aaliyuh Swinehart had several defensive digs and four players served aces in the set with Liz Glaspie leading the way, 6 aces, 10 total for the match.  Kaylee Rosloniec, Brooke Fellows and Lynn Bailey all recorded aces in set two.  With a lot of momentum and energy the Bulldogs went toe to toe with St. Johns.  Ionia worked together to get three hits and there was a nice rally back and forth and Ionia won the point!  It all came down to extra points and the final serve.  Unfortunately Ionia lost the third set 16-17.  But what a comeback!  After the slow start Ionia showed grit and perseverance and gave all they could.  Ionia is now 1-6 on the season and will play SSPP on Tuesday in Ionia at the SSPP Church.  The match starts at 5:00.  Let's go Bulldogs!
