The Ionia Girls Volleyball B Team traveled to Lakewood tonight to take on the Vikings.  The Bulldogs got off the bus ready to play!  The first set was a back and forth battle as Ionia covered the court well and put down 3 kills.  Aaliyuh Swinehart served up 2 aces to help the Bulldogs stay in the match.  Brooke Fellows and Aaliyuh Swinehart dug in and had a nice back and forth over the net with Lakewood which resulted in an Ionia point.  In the end Ionia came up just short losing 20-25.  The Bulldogs carried the positive momentum into the second set as Liz Glaspie served 3 aces to give Ionia a quick lead.  The second set was intense as Ionia worked hard on defense.  Brooke Fellows and Kaylee Rosloniec led Ionia with 2 digs each.  Harper Tumbleson completed 4 solid passes over the net.  Overall, Ionia's passing was solid and the girls worked hard all the way to the final point.  Ionia lost 22-25.  The third and final set had Ionia jumping out to a safe lead.  Serving aces were Lynn Bailey, Peyton Batista, Liz Glaspie and Aliyah Ross.  Ionia powered through Lakewood's servers and won their first set of the season 15-9!  Let's go, Bulldogs!!!  This match was close and Ionia battled tough all night.  It was a total team effort.  Ionia is 0-5 on the season and will face Eaton Rapids at home on Wednesday.  Come out and support your team.
