CHARLOTTE MIDDLE SCHOOL: 3
The Ionia Volleyball B Team traveled to Charlotte to play the Orioles and faced a tough opponent. The first set was a back and forth battle as the Lady Dawgs served 6 aces. Peyton Batista led the team with 3. Defensively, Ionia was able to put up 12 digs, Liz Glaspie had 4. The girls had momentum and hustle but came up just short dropping the first set 17-25. Ionia continued to struggle from the service line and Charlotte won the second set 10-25. Going into the third set Ionia was beginning to attack the net scoring 3 kills, Lynn Bailey, Peyton Batista and Aaliyuh Swinehart each had one. The match ended with Ionia dropping the last set 6-15. The Ionia B Team is 0-3 on the season and will travel to face county rival Portland on Wednesday. Let's go Bulldogs!
