ST. JOHNS MIDDLE SCHOOL: 2
The Girls 7th Grade B Volleyball Team opened up the match with a close loss against St. Johns. The Lady Dawgs rallied behind the strong serving of Makayla Vanallsburg, 9 service points, 3 aces but came up just short, 23-25. Ionia played well defensively and served well as a team in the second set. St. Johns proved to be too strong as Ionia lost 19-25. The third set was more of a back and forth battle. Ionia played with a lot of determination and with the score 13-12, Quinn Brown stepped back and served an ace and a service point. Ionia won 15-12. Offensively the Lady Dawgs were led by Madeline Lemke, 3 kills and Bailey Hewitt 5 kills. Ionia finished the season 4-6. Coach Madison is proud of the young ladies. They worked hard and showed much improvement as the season progressed. Go Blue!
