PORTLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL : 1
The Girls 7th Grade B Team played a well rounded match tonight against the Portland Raiders. The first set the Lady Dawgs battled Portland, but the Raiders serve proved a bit too strong. Ionia lost 19-25. Ionia came out serving well and playing strong offense. Five different people tallied kills during the second set and Ionia won 25-15. The third set was tough. The scoring went back and forth and the Lady Dawgs needed every bit of their steely nerves to win 17-15. Ionia was led defensively by Bailey Hewitt, 12 digs. The Ionia B Team is 3-5 on the season and they will travel to Grand Ledge Hayes on Wednesday.
