The Ionia Girls’ Cross Country team took on their CAAC rivals Tuesday evening in the first of three league jamborees.  This was supposed to be the second jamboree, but the first was canceled due to thunderstorms. The Bulldogs outraced the meet projections finishing in 4th, but only 10 points behind Charlotte’s third-place total of 69.  Senior Megan Lennemann was the top Bulldog finishing 4th behind a trio of Lansing Catholic All-State runners in 21:05.  Senior Clara Deeren followed closely behind her, placing 9th in 22:03.  Freshman Carleigh Thompson (23:12) was third for the Bulldogs, placing 15th in her first jamboree.  Freshmen Hannah Luttman (27:12) and Angie Reyes (34:55) were the final two Bulldog scorers and both raced to lifetime personal best times.  Ionia will take a break from racing to get in their final big block of training and then will return to action at the Greater Lansing Championship on October 15.
