The Ionia Girls’ Cross Country team competed in the MHSAA Lower Peninsula State Regionals Meet at South Christian High School. A total of 15 teams and 97 girls participated in the race. The Ionia Girls finished in 13th place with 340 points. The team was led by freshman Ava Benedict finishing 45th with a season’s best time of 21:26.82. Next, finishing 45thplace, junior Carleigh Thompson ran a time of 21:34.28. Earning a season best time of 22:16.81, freshmen Fiona Sizemore placed 58th overall. Freshman Dakota Badder, 93rd place overall, and junior Angie Reyes, 97thplace overall, ran times of 28:47.66 and 32:49.91 respectively.
The Bulldogs’ next meet is on Thursday, October 31st, at the Last Chance Invitational.
