The Ionia Girls’ Cross Country team competed in the Greater Lansing Championship Invitational. A total of 30 teams and 27 boys participated in the race. Junior Carleigh Thompson led the team placing 52 places better than her freshman year with 86th place, while also finishing with a 32-second lifetime PR of 21:38.1. Earning another season best times, freshmen Ava Benedict, 91st overall, and Fiona Sizemore, 125th overall, ran 21:48.0 and 22:30.9 respectively. Dakota Badder is another freshman running a time of 28:15.7 earning her a 197th place finish. Junior Angie Reyes earned a season best time of 32:38.3 placing 217th overall.
The Bulldogs’ next meet is Thursday, October 17th, for the League Championship at Olivet High School.
