The Ionia girls’ cross country team was up to the challenge at the Marauder Invitational at Uncle John’s Cider Mill on Wednesday evening, placing 6th of 13 teams. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Megan Lennemann in 5th place in a lifetime personal record time of 21:39. Close behind her and also medaling were Clara Deeren in 14th (22:52 season pr) and Carleigh Thompson in 24th (23:28 lifetime pr). Rounding things out for Ionia was Hannah Luttman in 76th (30:05 lifetime pr) and Angie Reyes in 99th (39:09 lifetime pr). The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday in grade races at Central Montcalm.
