The Ionia girls’ cross country team took on the challenge of the hilly course at the Saranac Invitational on Wednesday. The Bulldogs were one of 14 schools in the Division 1 and 2 race and finished in 9th place. Senior Megan Lennemann was the top Bulldog across the finish line, placing 23rd out of 91 total runners in 22:01. She was followed by teammates Clara Deeren in 45th, Carleigh Thompson in 51st, Hannuh Luttman in 86th, and Angie Reyes in 89th. Ionia will head back to practice to prepare for Wednesday’s Marauder Invite at Uncle John’s Cider Mill.
