Girls Varsity Cross Country vs. MHSAA D2 State Finals

The Ionia Girls’ Cross Country season wrapped up Saturday at the MHSAA D2 State Finals at Michigan International Speedway. The Bulldogs were represented by senior Maddie Hunulcik who competed in the finals for the first time. She had an excellent race, finishing 85th out of 254 runners. Her time of 20:15 was one of the best of her career. In addition to the outstanding racing, Maddie has a top-notch GPA and will earn academic all-state based on the combination of finishing in the top half of the race and her grades.
