The Ionia Girls’ Cross Country team raced well in the second CAAC White league jamboree on Tuesday at the St. Francis Retreat Center, home course of Lansing Catholic. The Bulldogs were not able to score as a team because two runners were unavailable for the race. Leading the way were Maddie Hanulcik and Clara Deeren who finished 4th and 7th respectively. They finished in the same places at jamboree #1 and are now in excellent position to earn all-league honors at the final jamboree October 21st. Hanulcik was clocked at 20:45 and Deeren at 21:51. Freshman Charly Smith continued to improve in her first season, finishing 30th in a personal-record time of 26:05. Tempyst Aikens earned a season-best time of 28:17. The Bulldogs will get back to work to get ready for the Greater Lansing Championships on October 16.
