The Ionia Girls’ Cross Country team took on 19 teams on a warm afternoon at the Shepherd Blue Jay Invitational on Saturday. The Bulldogs were missing a couple of team members and were unable to score as a team. Maddie Hanulcik sandwiched a great race between two band competitions on the day, medaling and finishing 7th out of 102 girls with a lifetime personal-record time of 20:03. Tempyst Aikens raced to a season-record time of 28:03. The Bulldogs will return to CAAC White league competition on Tuesday when they travel to the St. Francis Retreat Center for their second jamboree.
