Ionia girls Cross Country competed against Forest Hills Eastern, Belding, and Grand Rapids Covenant Christian in a quad meet Saturday morning. In the Varsity race, team results were: 1st place: GR Covenant Christian (34 points), 2nd place: Forest Hills Eastern (38 points), 3rd place: Belding (67 points), and 4th place: Ionia (94 points). Top finishers for Ionia included: Maddie Hanulcik (7th place, with a Season Record (SR) of 21:02), Clara Deeren (18th place, SR of 21:52), Jordyn Diebel (25th place, SR of 22:38), Kayla King (31st place with a personal record (PR) of 23:16), Avery Roundtree (32nd place, 23:25), Teija Castle (41st place, SR of 25:27), Breann Wandell (45th place, 26:24) and Tempyst Aikens (46th place with a SR of 28:14). The Cross Country team competes next Friday, September 18th in Lansing against Belding, Lansing Catholic, and Shepherd.
