DEWITT JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 15
The Ionia boys middle school cross country team hosted their season opener tonight, facing off against DeWitt, Lansing Catholic, Portland, and Charlotte. DeWitt finished in 1st place with 15 points, Lansing Catholic in 2nd with 49, Ionia in 3rd with 97, and Portland in 4th with 98.
The Bulldogs were led by Orion Nervig (21st) with a time of 14:32 and Aaron Lepley (23rd) just behind him at 14:36. Other fantastic performances were recorded by Taiytum McCarty (44) 16:14, Jaxxon Wittenbach (66) 17:41, Jacob Shattuck (67) 17:42, Bentley Decker (73) 18:40, and Karim Vazquez (78) 19:39. It was a great night to be a Bulldog fan!
The Bulldogs will travel to Olivet on Monday, September 9th for their next race. Boys run at 5:00 pm, and girls will follow at 5:30pm.
