Ionia traveled to Williamston tonight and lost 82-98.  Every race mattered, and several came down to the final touch.  We had 7 races that were decided by less than a second and 2 races that ended in a tie.  Overall, we had 27 more best times.  The girls raced hard, and it was exciting to cheer them on.

Highlights of the meet included:

The medley relay of Katelyn Lamphere, Adah Drown, Amelia McGee and Ella Udell took first, dropping four and half seconds and out-touching the competition by 0.06.

Isabelle Robinson took first in the 200 yard freestyle by 0.31, finishing with a best time.  Robinson also took first in the 500 yard freestyle.

Amelia McGee & Adah Drown took first and second in the 200 yard individual medley.  McGee also took first in the 100 yard breaststroke with a personal best time.  Drown squeaked into 3rd place in the 100 yard butterfly by 0.67.

Evelyn Kleisbusch took first place in diving with a dive that she had never done before tonight.

Katelyn Lamphere tied for 1st place in the 100 yard backstroke and took second in the 100 yard freestyle.

The 400 yard freestyle relay team of Robinson, Drown, Lamphere and McGee took first to finish out the meet.

Ionia will travel to Hastings on Saturday for the Hastings Invitational.

Next Thursday, Ionia will host its Purple Meet at home.
