Ionia traveled to Hastings this morning and took 3rd among six teams with a score of 298.  This was an all relay meet so it provided the swimmers with a chance to swim some different events with teammates.  Along with the fun atmosphere, we had some very strong swimming.  Top 3 relay teams in each event received medals and all others received ribbons.  Everyone who was in the water today earned points for our team.

Highlights included:

Squeaking into a second place finish by 0.01 in the 400 individual medley relay was the team of Adah Drown, Ella Udell, Katelyn Lamphere and Amelia McGee.

Taking 3rd in the 200 yard butterfly relay was the team of Adah Drown, Isabelle Robinson, Kaylynn Doty and Amelia McGee.

Taking 3rd in the 200 yard freestyle relay was the team of Katelyn Lamphere, Lexi Heinlein, Isy Vasquez, and Adah Drown.

Taking 3rd in the 200 yard backstroke relay was the team of Katelyn Lamphere, Lexi Heinlein, Kaylynn Doty and Amelia McGee.

Taking 3rd in the 200 yard breastroke relay was the team of Ella Udell, Maddie Lemke, Isy Vasquez, and Kennedy Batista.

Rounding out the day, we also took 3rd in the 400 yard freestyle relay with the team of Isabelle Robinson, Jadyn Gardner, Mariya Berry and Lexi Heinlein.

Ionia is currently 0-1 in the CAAC Red, 2-2 overall.

Ionia will host Lansing Legacy on Thursday at 6 p.m. for the Purple Meet to benefit Ionia Community Awareness.  There will be several fun events along with the t-shirt ceremony at the conclusion of the meet.
