Ionia boys jv basketball defeated Olivet by a score of 36-35 on Thursday night. From the opening tip, Olivet would take a commanding lead. Ionia would go into halftime down by 11 points. Dawson Leland would score 9 points of his own in the 3rd quarter to make a run and cut the lead to 3 points. Olivet held onto their lead up until the very last second. Mason Braman would score a free throw to give Ionia a one point lead with 5 seconds remaining in the game. This would be Ionia's only lead of the night.

Dawson Leland totaled 12 points on the night to go with 8 rebounds. Carter Ralston would score 10 points to go with his 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Ethan Wenzel and Mason Clark would play key minutes late in the game to help Ionia battle back into the game.
