Ionia boys Jv basketball defeated Portland in a nail biter by a score of 46-44 on Thursday night. Guys stepped up and had to grind it out, but Ionia was able to come out on top.

Caiden Sayers gave us big minutes on defense and scored 4 points on the offensive end. Carter Ralston put together his best offensive performance with 12 points and 7 assists, while Nolan Hart added 11 points. Wolton Sandborn stepped into a different role tonight and battled inside. Wolton had a nice line of 6 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Ionia Jv improves to 4-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. Ionia will have their last game before Christmas break on Tuesday, home vs Hastings with a 5:30 jv tip-off.
