The Ionia jv boys basketball team defeated Dewitt 55-54 in their final game of the season on Thursday night. 

It was a back and forth game the entire way with no team gaining an edge the entire way. In a tie ball game with 10 seconds left, Dewitt scored a bucket to go up two points. The bulldogs called a timeout and drew up a play. Brent Starks ran off a double screen and got open for a 3 that he drained with 3 seconds left. That would be enough to close out the win. 

Brent Starks finished with 16 points on top of hitting the game winner. Trevor Hodges had 6 points including some huge buckets and rebounds in the fourth quarter. Carter Starks had 10 points, including an offensive rebound put back that was huge in the fourth quarter. Wyatt Erridge was a force on the defensive end all season and that didn’t stop tonight. 

The Ionia boys jv finish a season that did not lack excitement on a high note.  We finish with a final season record of 20-2.
