Ionia boys jv basketball uses late game heroics to win a snow day thriller 60-59 vs Lansing Sexton. 

Down 5 points with 1 minute left Brent Starks hit a 3-pointer. Lansing Sexton made both free throws and in the next possession Colt Piercefield swished a 3 to make the score 59-58 in favor of Sexton with 15 seconds left in the game. Wyatt Erridge played a passing lane on defense, got a steal, kicked it out for a 3 and then proceeded to get the offensive rebound on the missed 3-point attempt and made the put back basket to take the lead with 8 seconds left. Sexton would miss a shot at the buzzer to give Ionia the win. 

Colt Piercefield scored 16 points in the game, including 11 in the first quarter. Wyatt Erridge scored 12 points, including 8 in the 3rd quarter and the big go ahead bucket to win the game. Carter Starks finished with 11 points, including 5 free throws down the stretch in the 4th quarter. 

The Ionia boys jv team improves to 19-0 on the season, and 9-0 in the conference. We will take on Charlotte Monday night in Ionia with a 7 o’clock tip-off.
