J.W. SEXTON HIGH SCHOOL: 38
The Ionia JV boys basketball team won by a score of 50-38 on Thursday night, defeating Lansing Sexton. The game started slow, and we found ourselves down 3 at halftime. We tightened some things up on the offensive end in the second half and continued our strong defensive play to hold another team under 40 points.
Trevor Hodges took 2 charges in the game, while Wyatt Erridge, Carter Starks, and Braylon Granger each took one. Colt Piercefield scored 16 points in the game and played well on the defensive end. Jaxon Palmer played big minutes throughout the game and was a big part of our second half run.
Ionia boys jv improves to 10-0 and improve to 5-0 in the conference. Our next game will be a home matchup against Mason on Tuesday, tip-off at 5:30.
