Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Gets 36-22 Win Over Portland

Ionia JV Bulldogs traveled to rival Portland tonight and earned a hard fought victory. The Dawgs set the tone defensively, only allowing 5 first half points. Ionia ended the half with a score of 19-5.

Ionia took care of business in the second half defeating Portland by a score of 36-22.

Leading the way for the Bulldogs in scoring: Lane Thomas with 8, Clay Currigan with 7, Harrison Yenchar with a strong second half 6 points, Kullen Granger and Tanner Gregory with 5 each, Jimmy Peabody put up 4, and Cy Baylis with 1.

Ionia is 2-0 this season and will host Lakewood at 5:30 Tuesday night.
