The Ionia boys bowling held off the Raiders of Portland on Friday afternoon at the Wagon Wheel 16-14 to keep their hopes of a league title alive.  

In team match #1 Ionia totaled 812 pins to Portland’s 867 pins, the Bulldogs were led by Brett Petersen’s 218 followed by Mason Hodge’s 175.  In match #2 Ionia totaled 925 pins to Portland’s 866 pins, the Bulldogs were led by Sam Meyer’s 225 followed by Brett Petersen’s 221.  The Bulldog’s won the series 1737 to 1783.

In the 2 Bakers matches the Bulldogs outscored the Raiders 375 to 363.

The JV struggled on the night, falling 27-3 to the Raiders.  Top scores on the night included Seth Wandel with a 162, Vincent Flohr with a 143, and Taggert Loucks 131..

The varsity boys are now 6-1 overall and 5-1 in the league.  They will have a non-league match on Tuesday vs PW at the Ionia Bowling Alley.
