The Ionia boys bowling team opened league play with a big win against county rival Portland taking the home match 18-12 on their home lanes at the Ionia Bowling Alley.
In team match #1 Ionia totaled 853 pins to Portland’s 793 pins, the Bulldogs were led by Brett Petersen’s 220 followed by Sam Meyer’s 169 . In match #2 Ionia totaled 832 pins to Portland’s 907 pins, the Bulldogs were again led by Brett Petersen’s 232 followed by Sam Meyer’s 183. The Bulldog’s lost the series 1685 to 1700.
In the 2 Bakers matches the Bulldogs were outscored by the Raiders 418-316.
