The Ionia girls middle school cross country team hosted their season opener tonight, facing off against DeWitt, Lansing Catholic, Portland, and Charlotte.  DeWitt finished in 1st place with 28 points, Lansing Catholic in 2nd with 58, Charlotte in 3rd with 74, Ionia in 4th with 100 and Portland in 5th with 116.  

The Bulldogs were led by Aubrey Perez (19th) with a time of 15:46.  Finishing right behind her were Winne Udell (22) 16:01 and Jovie Overkamp (23) 16:03.  Other incredible performances were recorded by Maci Esparza (35) 17:13, Krisalynn Cooper (52) 19:06, Sophia Brown (55) 19:11, Reegan Haynes (60) 20:14, Vesper Nervig (61) 20:21, Rylee Anes (62) 21:15, Charlotte Whitney (69) 22:54, and Arleigha Bailiff (26:45). It was a great night to be a Bulldog fan! 

The Bulldogs will travel to Olivet on Monday, September 9th for their next race.  Boys run at 5:00 pm, and girls will follow at 5:30pm.
