Amelia McGee finishes 9th at D3 State Finals

Amelia McGee swam in the MHSAA Division State Finals this weekend taking part in the prelims on Friday and the finals on Saturday.
Amelia finished in 19th place in the 100 yard butterfly on Friday during prelims.
For the D3 State Finals on Saturday, Amelia dropped time in the 100 yard backstroke, moving up to 9th place from an 11th place seeding with a personal best time of 1:00.08. Amelia had a strong swim with snappy turns and long underwaters. Those elements together helped her to be achieve success and to represent Ionia well.
The Ionia Girls season is now completed with the team banquet taking place last week. We look forward to a great season in 2024.
