With a relay team and one individual swimmer, Ionia finished 28th out of 34 teams competing at the MHSAA Division 3 State Finals this weekend.
Amelia McGee competed in the 100 yard butterfly, swimming a personal best time of 1:01.28 and finishing in 13th place.
McGee also competed in the 100 yard backstroke swimming a season best time of 1:00.43 and finishing in 9th place. Amelia was originally seeded 17th.
The relay team of McGee, Isabelle Robinson, Ella Udell, and Katelyn Lamphere swam strong and finished 32nd. Lamphere had a personal best time of 26.99. Robinson, Udell, and Lamphere are all seniors so attending the state finals was extra special for them.
Varsity swim ended with a winning season of 4-1 in the CAAC Red conference and 7-2 overall.
