A portion of the Ionia team traveled to Grand Ledge this afternoon for the Second Shave Meet. This meet is an opportunity to swim different events, to improve times, and to achieve state cut times. Tessa Nash and Lexi Heinlein swam to some solid times in the 50 free and 100 butterfly. The highlight of the evening was the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Katelyn Lamphere, Isabelle Robinson, Ella Udell and Amelia McGee. They swam to a state cut time of 1:48.66. It was an exciting night at the pool.
The relay team will compete along with Amelia McGee in her individual events at the Division 3 state finals at Eastern Michigan University on November 22-23.
Next up for the team is diving regionals. Evelyn Kleibusch will compete Thursday at St. Johns.
