Ionia traveled to Charlotte Friday afternoon for the CAAC Red Conference Meet Prelims. There was some great racing that happened, and our swimmers had 38 personal best times. Most swimmers had best times in all of their events. Several swimmers had big time drops for their races. Tessa Nash dropped 9 seconds in the 50 yard butterfly leg of the medley relay. Taylor Browne, Halli Parham and Bailey Fothergill all dropped close to 20 seconds in their races. Lydia French dropped 49 seconds in the 500 yard freestyle. Amelia McGee broke the pool record for the 100 yard butterfly.
Headed into finals on Saturday afternoon, Isabelle Robinson and Amelia McGee are both seeded first in their individual events.
