Ionia traveled to Hastings high school to participate in the relay inviational today and finished 3rd with a score of 258 points.  Amelia McGee raced to a state cut time in 100 yard free by swimming first in the 400 yard freestyle relay.   Every team member earned a medal or a ribbon today along with varsity points.  Of special note, a parent from another team complimented our team saying they are a very polite, kind and positive bunch of girls.  The team represented Ionia well.

There were 31 personal best times over the course of the meet.   The biggest time drops of the day came from Katelyn Lamphere, Lena Cox, Avelin McGuire, Tessa Nash and Kennedy Batista.  

There were 3 bronze medal finishes during the invitational in the following events:

200 yard butterfly relay:  Eily Martinez, Adah Drown, Addy Lepien, and Amelia McGee

200 yard freestyle relay:  Amelia McGee, Eily Martinez, Brynn Labadie and Katelyn Lamphere

400 yard freestyle relay:  Amelia McGee, Katelyn Lamphere, Isabelle Robinson, and Eily Martinez

Ionia will travel to Lansing Everett high school on Thursday to compete in next conference meet.
