Ionia Girls Varsity Swim traveled to Williamston for a dual meet tonight and brought home the win, 102-81.  Ionia moved to 5-1 in the CAAC Red Conference.  The team was tired and sore, but they fought hard to win races.  In spite of feeling sluggish in the water, we had 29 personal best times.

Highlights of the meet included:

The relay team of Sydney Estep, Alexis Burns, Amelia McGee and Madeline McGee took first place in the 200 Medley Relay

Amelia McGee took first in the 200 yard IM and the 500 yard freestyle.

Madeline McGee and Eily Martinez went 1 -2 in the 50 yard freestyle.

Mimi Wegener took first in diving with a personal high score.

Brynn Labadie, Alexis Burns and Isy Vasquez went 1 - 2 - 3 in the 100 yard freestyle.

Madeline McGee also took first in the 100 yard breaststroke.

To wrap up the meet, the team of Amelia McGee, Lamphere, Estep and McGee took first in the 400 yard freestyle relay.

Ionia will host Waverly in the final dual meet of the season on Thursday, October 27.  Come out to support our seniors and the rest of the team.
