We rounded out the meet with a win the 400 yard freestyle by Martinez, Robinson, Browne and M. McGee.
In celebration of the Purple Meet, winners of every heat also got a purple duck. There was a duck toss during the diving warm-up with many people tossing their ducks! Following the meet, the swimmers presented their loved ones with their purple shirt in a touching shirt ceremony. Then all of the girls swam in a purple t-shirt relay. Volunteer contestants participated in a canonball contest to end the night of festivities. It was a special night to honor the survivors, fighters and the taken. Together, we are stronger than cancer.
Overall record 4-1; CAAC Red conference record 2-0
Ionia will travel to Lansing next week for the next conference meet.
