Tonight, Ionia hosted their first home swim meet, losing to St. Johns 69-105. While the score says the home team lost, every girl in the water tonight had a personal best time. Their progress is encouraging, and their willingness to work hard in the face of obstacles is commendable. Madeline McGee took first in the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 yard breaststroke. Brynn Lepien took first in the 100 yard butterfly. Isabella Reisbig had the largest drop in time tonight in the 500 yard freestyle. Several girls swam races they had never swam before. Ionia will host Williamston on Thursday, October 15 for the purple meet.
