McGee gets state cut in the 100 backstroke

Ionia traveled to Waverly tonight. The girls lost 60-109 with some tough competition in the pool. Madeline McGee took first in the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke. With the 100 yard backstroke, McGee earned a state cut with a time of 1:03.33. Brynn Lepien took first in the 500 yard freestyle with solid turns at the wall. There were 16 other personal best times. Several girls swam races they have never attempted before, including Riley Browne and Alexis Burns. The girls swim next in Owosso on Tuesday with a start time of 6:00 p.m.
