JV Football wins the Season Opener

The Bulldog JV football team opened the season with a 20-6 win against county rival Belding.

Tyson Brownell opened the scoring for Ionia with a 25 yard touchdown run. Carter Starks caught a 25 yard touchdown pass from Tristin Ciganick on the last play of the first half. Tyson Brownell ran in the conversion giving Ionia a 14-0 halftime lead. The Bulldogs final score came on a 40 yard run from Tristin Ciganick.

The defense was strong throughout the contest giving up only a 3rd quarter touchdown.

Ionia is 1-0 and travels to Kelloggsville on Wednesday.
