Carl Goeckel placed 32 in the 200 yard freestyle event at the Division 3 MHSAA Swim and Dive state meet on Friday March 10. "Carl is the only male swimmer from Ionia High School to qualify for state meet. He swam well for his first time at such a big meet!"
Carl was named to the MISCA Greater Lansing All-Area- SecondTeam for 2023 in recognition for his swimming accomplishments this season. "This has been a learning season for Carl and his team mates. Carl set goals for his season. He met each of the goals he set at the beginning of the season. The end of the season at state meet was a culmination of his hard work."
