Ionia was fortunate enough to host the 25th Michael Adamson wrestling invitational. Ionia finished 6th out of 10 schools having three wrestlers make the finals. Senior Carter Castillo won the tournament at 144 lbs going 5-0 on the day. Hunter Barker went 4-1 bringing home 2nd place, and freshman Chad Campbell also brought home a 2nd place medal going 3-1. In the Girls Division Sadie Roberts won her weight class going 2-0 and Sarah Schafer took 2nd place going 1-1. Wrestlers going 3-2 on the day were Jackson Stoakes and Landen Steffen. Getting 2 wins on the day were wrestlers Levi Schied, Jack Gardner, Wyatt Berry, and Jonathan Rico. Other wrestlers winning a match were Ricky Charon, Logan Rozewski and Garrett Robinson. Your bulldogs will be back on the mat next weekend where we will travel to Hastings for their individual tournament. 

The Ionia wrestling coaching staff would like to thank the entire Ionia wrestling community for helping to again run a very successful wrestling tournament.  We had so many former wrestlers, family members, and community members that stepped up to make it a very successful day.  Thank you for running bout sheets, announcing, writing on charts, serving as tournament manager, running tables all day long, and working in the concession stand.  It is because of these individuals that we are able to provide a great opportunity for our wrestlers every year.  This makes us proud to be Ionia Bulldogs!
