EATON RAPIDS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 29
Ionia varsity wrestling team hosted the season opener tonight competing against Eaton Rapids and Fowlerville. Ionia went 1-1 on the night. First wrestling Eaton Rapids coming out with a dual win with a score of 44-29. Then with a close match against Fowlerville losing the dual 34-48. Individually wrestlers going 2-0 on the night were Freshman Chad Campbell, senior Levi Scheid, senior Carter Castillo, sophomore Bryce Hoppes, and senior Hunter Barker. Also earning wins tonight were Ricky Charon, Austin Murphy, Wyatt Berry, Landen Steffen, Sarah Schafer, and Jonathan Rico. Everyone wrestled very tough tonight. Ionia starts the season 1-1 and 1-0 in our conference. Your Bulldogs will be back on the mat this Saturday at Delton Kellogg to wrestle in a team dual tournament. Wrestling starts at 9am.
