Ionia varsity wrestling team traveled to Delton-Kellogg today to compete in a team tournament. The team finished with a record of 2-2 earning a 3rd place finish. Our bulldogs wrestled very tough today with everyone coming home with at least one win on the day. Wrestler Killian Campbell went 4-0 at 144 pound wt class. Wrestlers going 3-1 were Logan Rozewski at 113, Keagan Lang at 126, Hunter Barker at 150, Nate Clute at 175, and Chase Holford at 190. Wrestlers going 2-2 were Jackson Gallagher at 120, Bryce Hoppes at 132, Victor Ledesma at 157, and Chris Smith at heavy weight. Other bulldogs finding success today were Ricky Charon at 106, Jack Gardner at 138, and John Rico at 215. 

Ionia was fortunate enough to be able to send a squad down to Delton Friday night to compete in a JV individual tournament. It was a long night on the mat with some tough wrestling from our bulldogs. Ionia sent 9 wrestlers down Friday: Aaron Wolthius, Gabe Rogers, Austin Murphy, Natalie Fasset, Dalton Lewis, Landen Steffens, Sarah Schafer, and Jay Ledesma. We all had a lot of fun and got some great experience. Wrestlers going 2-0 on the night were Gabe Rogers, and Landen Steffens. Also finding success on the night were wrestlers Aaron Wolthius and Natalie Fasset. 

After today, the varsity wrestling teams record is now 4-2 on the season. Your Bulldogs will be back on the mat this Wednesday at the Ionia High School with our first CAAC match up of the season against Charlotte. Wrestling starts at 6pm.
