The Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Belding tonight to close out regular season play with a quad. The Bulldogs opened play against the host Black Knights with solid play on offense and defense, finishing the match in 2 sets. Next Ionia took on Hastings. After a quick first set, the Bulldogs dropped a bit of momentum, sending the match into a 3rd set. Ionia pulled together strong team play in the final set to win the match. The last match of the night was against Portland St. Patrick. The Bulldogs took to the court with a more balanced effort to close out the night with a 2 set win against the Shamrocks. 

The offensive effort was led tonight by Logan Thomas with 17 kills while Amaya Frias added 16 and Tess Lemke put down 12. Alli Shaw paced the offense with 30 assists while Grace Droste set up another 26. Behind the service line Paislie Patterson led with 7 aces while Thomas, Frias, Lemke & Shaw all dropped in 4 each. The defensive effort was led by Paislie Patterson with 29 digs while Lexi Daugherty kept another 26 in play. At the net Frias & Lemke each had 2 blocks. The Bulldogs are now 27-12-3 overall. Ionia enters post-season with a 1st round bye and will play the winner of Belding vs Central Montcalm on November 6th at 7pm at Comstock Park. Let's pack the stands and get loud! Good work Bulldogs!
