The Varsity Volleyball team wrapped conference play today with the CAAC White Tournament. The Bulldogs entered the Tournament in 4th place and opened play against Olivet. Ionia was poised & ready to play quickly putting away the match in 2 sets. Next they faced off with 1st seed Lakewood. Ionia battled strong but came up just shy 23-25, 23-25. In the final round of play the Bulldogs met up with 2nd seed Lansing Catholic. The team came out balanced, swinging hard and playing strong defense to put away the 1st set 25-21. The 2nd set was close throughout but Ionia was unable to close out dropping it 20-25. The Bulldogs came out refocused in the 3rd set & worked together to put away the set & match 15-11 to move up to 3rd place for the season. 

The offensive effort today was led by Logan Thomas with 24 kills while Amaya Frias added 22. Grace Droste paced the offense with 56 assists. From behind the service line Frias led the attack with 7 aces while Tessa Lemke dropped in another 4. 

The defensive effort was led by Paislie Patterson with 42 digs while Thomas kept another 32 in play. At the net Lemke had 3 blocks while Ireland Brown stopped 2. 

The Bulldogs are now 24-12-3 overall and finished 3rd in CAAC White. Ionia will finish regular season Wednesday with a quad in Belding. Great work Bulldogs!
