The Ionia Boys’ Cross Country team had an excellent showing at the Last Chance Invitational hosted by St. Johns at Uncle John’s Cider Mill. No team scores were kept as this was an opportunity for boys who had not qualified for the state finals to have one last shot at a personal-record time. Demetri Davis paced the Bulldogs, finishing in 6th place and closed out his career with a 0:36 lifetime PR of 18:44. Xander Lange raced to a 13th-place finish and earned a season PR of 19:12, an improvement of 0:10. Alex Bushee was right behind him, finishing in 15th place with a lifetime PR of 19:26, a 0:04 improvement. Lincoln Denis had a huge drop of 1:55 to set a new lifetime PR of 20:09 to go along with his 20th-place finish. The season will wrap up on Saturday when the varsity 7 compete in the D2 State Finals at Michigan International Speedway.
