The Ionia Boys’ Cross Country team participated in the League Championship, competing against 8 teams and 65 boys. The team secured 5th place, with freshman Liam Thelen leading the team by placing 10th in the race with a personal best time of 17:43.8. This achievement earned him 13th place overall in the conference and All-Conference recognition. Following closely was junior Jaxxon Thelen, who ran a time of 18:04.8, securing 19th place overall and an honorable mention in the conference. Sophomore Connor Morrison placed 27th with a time of 19:07.3, while junior Dallas Bailiff secured 34th place with a time of 19:28.7. Freshman Xander Towery achieved a lifetime personal record with a time of 20:08.7, placing him 41st. Freshman Cooper Highlen placed 45th with a time of 20:45.9. Junior Gabe Holman and freshman Talon Thompson secured 55th and 56th places with times of 22:29.8 and 22:34.0, respectively. Lastly, freshman Tylan Daniel achieved another lifetime personal best time of 23:33.3, placing him 59th.

The Bulldogs’ next meet will be on Saturday, October 26th, for the Regional Championship at Grand Rapids South Christian High School.
