Ionia Boys Cross Country competed in a tri meet against Shepherd and Saranac on Wednesday, September 30th. Saranac won the meet with 29 points, Ionia was second at 34 points, and Shepherd came in 3rd place with 62 points. Top finishers for the Ionia boys included: Jacob Montgomery (18:14 in 4th place), Josiah Magley (18:18 in 5th), Riley Husted (18:31 in 7th), Harrison Yenchar (18:43 in 8th), Andrew Gerdes (19:03 in 10th), Lukas Schafer (19:41 in 14th), and Tyson Evans (19:51 in 16th). Three Ionia boys earned either personal record or season record times tonight. Alex Bushee finished at 20:49 (PR), Lincoln Denis at 25:04 (PR), and Karson Hagen finished with a time of 41:34 (SR). The top 10 boys will compete on Saturday at the Allendale meet.
