In the first league jamboree of the season, the Ionia boys lost a close one to Lansing Catholic. Team scores were: Lansing Catholic 43, Ionia 44, Charlotte 67, Eaton Rapids 83 and Portland 138. Top runners for the Ionia boys were Heath LaPointe (5th place, 17:38), Josiah Magley (7th place with a season record of 18:00), Jacob Montgomery (8th place at 18:06), Riley Husted (10th place 18:17), Andrew Gerdes (14th place with a personal record of 18:29), Harrison Yenchar (15th place at 18:32), and Tyson Evans ( 20th place with a personal record of 18:58). Other Ionia runners with personal and season records include: Cody Husted (SR of 20:01), Branden Husted (SR of 20:25), Ryan Trierweiler (SR of 20:29), Lincoln Denis (PR of 25:56), and Karson Hagen (SR of 43:39). Ionia’s next competition will be at the Allendale Meet.
