The Ionia Boys Cross Country team competed in DeWitt in a quad meet against Lansing Catholic, Belding and Shepherd on Friday afternoon.  Ionia boys finished in second place with 55 points.  Lansing Catholic won the meet with 39 points.  Belding came in third with 63 points and Shepherd came in fourth place with 70 points.  Top finishers for Ionia were Heath LaPointe (3rd place with a Season Record (SR) of 17:20), Jacob Montgomery (10th place at 18:04), Riley Husted (12th place with a SR of 18:13), Harrison Yenchar (14th place with a time of 18:17), Josiah Magley (16th place at 18:20), Xander Lange (17th place with a time of 18:42) and Lukas Schafer (18th place with a SR of 18:57).   Other season records and personal records were set by: Connor Clark, Zane Hensley, Branden Husted, Cody Husted, Ryan Trierweiler, Zach Vogt, Ethan Cotter, Lincoln Denis, and Karson Hagen.  Ionia Cross Country will compete at the same location on Tuesday, September 22 in their first league jamboree of the season.
