SARANAC COMMUNITY SCHOOLS: 26
The Boys Cross Country Team competed in Saranac Thursday evening against Saranac, Lakeview and Lakewood. Ionia boys finished in second place behind Saranac. Saranac had a score of 26, while Ionia had a score of 31. Top finishers for Ionia were Heath LaPointe in 4th place with a time of 17:35, freshman Jacob Montgomery came in 5th with a personal record (PR) time of 18:01, Harrison Yenchar was 8th at 18:13, Riley Husted finished in 9th at 18:27, Josiah Magley came in 10th at 18:28, Andrew Gerdes set a new PR with a time of 18:37 to come in 11th place, and Xander Lange also set a PR at 18:55 to come in 13th place. Other PRs were set by Tyson Evans (19:35), Demetri Davis (19:36), Alex Bushee (21:04), and Lincoln Denis (30:41). Ionia’s next Cross Country meet will be on Saturday in Belding. Varsity boys will run at 10:00, and JV boys will run at 11:00.
