WAVERLY MIDDLE SCHOOL: 67
On Monday, December 9th Ionia traveled to Lansing Waverly . The Warriors were too long, too strong and too quick for the Bulldogs and took the victory 67-37. Ionia fell behind early and was never able to make up the deficit. While being outscored just 23-19 in the second half the disastrous first quarter (26-9) was too much to overcome.
The Dawgs hit 7 3-pointers but could not match up defensively! Austin Henry had 4 3-pointers as part of his team leading 18 points. Jacob Roman had 6 points (1 3-pointer) and Roemon Russell added 5. Karson Crosby and Neithan Cruz-Pagan each scored 3 points (on a 3-point shot) and Graham Lower added 2 points. Austin Henry (8) and Roemon Russell (5) led the rebounders.
The loss leaves Ionia with a record of 1-8. For the final game of the season the Bulldogs host the Portland Raiders on Wednesday, December 11th at 4:30/5:40.
