PORTLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL : 49
On Wednesday, November 20th Ionia traveled to Portland to take on the Raiders. The Bulldogs trailed just 20-17 at the half but eventually fell by a 49-33 score. Down just seven heading into the final quarter Ionia had to take some chances that made the final score a bit misleading. It was a determined effort from the Dawgs against a strong opponent! The loss does drop the team to 0-5 at the halfway point of the season.
Neithan Cruz-Pagan led with 11 points (all in the 2nd half). Neithan also had 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Roemon Russell scored 8 points and added 5 rebounds. Hudson Hawley had 7 points. Jacob Roman (3) and Lorenzo Lopez & Graham Lower with 2 each rounded out the scoring. Lorenzo Lopez also led with 10 rebounds.
Ionia’s 7th graders travel to Lakewood on Monday, November 25th for a rematch with the Vikings. Games will start @ 4:30/5:30.
